Field Station Network

This network promotes the interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary work of UC researchers, fostering undergraduate and graduate training in Chile’s most representative ecosystems. Desert, sea, forests and glaciers serve as a natural laboratory to study complex phenomena and contribute to the generation of knowledge and creative work connected to national and global challenges, strengthening the institutional link with society through cooperation with diverse communities across Chile.

The UC Commission for Regional Centers and Field Stations members are: Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies, María Angélica Fellenberg, chair; Valeria Palanza, Dean of the Faculty of History, Geography and Political Science, member; Fernanda Pérez, Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences, member; and Katherine Strasser, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, member; Gloria Arancibia, Faculty of Engineering, member; Francisco Chateau, Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urban Studies, member; Sergio Guitart, Executive Officer of UC Chile Field Station Network (RCER), secretary. Commission members are appointed by the UC President for a three-year term.

UC Chile Field Station Network is responsible for the project “UC at the Service of the Territory” (La UC al Servicio del Territorio, PUC23101), funded by the Institutional Development Fund of the Ministry of Education, Chile.
