“Artesanos de la Unidad” and CAF alliance will promote research at Chilean borders with Bolivia and Peru

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between CAF -Development Bank of Latin America-, and the three universities: Universidad Católica Boliviana San Pablo, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, which make up the “Artesanos de la Unidad” network. Said memorandum will promote the development of more academic research projects and instances in the border region of Bolivia, Chile and Peru, with a particular focus on promoting research related to water resources, renewable energy, and physical and digital connectivity.

“Our countries today share challenges in strategic areas such as water resources, renewable energy, climate change, physical and digital connectivity, and health, among others. The joint effort of our universities and CAF will contribute to deepening development and regional integration, leaving behind the tensions that alienated our societies in the past”, stated UC President, Ignacio Sánchez.
